Reverend Dr. H. Daehler HayesI was born and raised in Portsmouth Ohio. I am a graduate of Portsmouth High School, Harvard College AB and Harvard Divinity School M. Div. I received a Dr. of Divinity honorary degree from Ursinus College for my urban ministry in Philadelphia, PA.

Following the 30 year pastorate of Rev. Dr. Ben Mohr Herbster, the first President of the UCC, I served as Sr. Pastor of the 900 member Zion German Reformed Church UCC Cincinnati Ohio, in Norwood, Ohio 1961 – 1971.

I served Old First Reformed Church, UCC in the historic downtown Philadelphia, PA 1971 – 1983.

I was called as Conference Minister of the Rhode Island Conference UCC. I served 20 years retiring in 2002 and accepting the Cornerstone Fund Mission Interpreter position for the Northeast Region and an appointment in the Philosophy Department of the University of Rhode Island.

Married to Reverend Joy C. Utter, Sr. Pastor of the 600 member Seekonk (MA) Congregational Church, UCC, we have four children and six grandchildren.

I rejoice in the wonderful mission of the Cornerstone Fund faithfully serving the churches and members of the UCC.
